Administrative Document Support
Administrative Support for Separation and Divorce Documents
Reaching an understanding in mediation is an important step. You may then need help bringing together the information your lawyer will review. Forward Family Mediation offers optional administrative support to organize your mediated terms and supporting materials so your next conversation is easier to prepare for.

Organizing the terms reached in mediation
After separation and divorce mediation, a written summary can help you identify the understandings reached and any issues that remain unresolved. Administrative support focuses on arranging that information clearly for your own lawyer.
This may include organizing the topics, collecting the information you have been asked to provide and helping you identify questions for legal review. It is not legal drafting. Your lawyer is responsible for advising you about your rights and obligations and preparing or finalizing any legal agreement.
If you are still discussing parenting arrangements, support or property matters, tell us. Those issues may require further mediation or legal advice before the documents can move forward.
Uncontested divorce administrative support in Ontario
If the relevant issues have been resolved and you are preparing to speak with a lawyer about an uncontested divorce, we can help organize the information for that discussion. Assistance may include a checklist of materials, arranging records into a clear package and general information about where to find official court resources.
For example, you may need to locate a marriage certificate, existing agreements or prior orders. Your lawyer can advise which documents are required for your particular application. We do not decide whether you meet the legal requirements for a divorce or whether a particular court procedure is appropriate.
An uncontested divorce still involves a legal process. Administrative assistance does not grant a divorce, guarantee approval or determine the timing of a court's decision.

What this service includes and where it stops
We provide neutral administrative assistance with information and organization. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation or legal drafting services. We do not complete or sign court forms on your behalf, file documents with the court, pay court fees or communicate with the court as your representative.
Each person should obtain independent legal advice from their own lawyer. All documents and materials must be reviewed with your lawyer before filing or signing. You remain responsible for filing, service and court fees, with legal guidance where needed.
A clear scope before work begins
Tell us what has already been resolved and what help you are seeking. We will discuss whether the request fits the administrative service and explain the proposed scope and fees. Lawyer's fees and any court costs are separate from our administrative support.
Do not send sensitive financial records or identification through a general enquiry message. Ask how to share documents before providing them. Our initial contact form only needs a brief explanation of the help you are looking for.
Questions about document support
Can you prepare a legally binding separation agreement
We provide neutral mediation and administrative support, not legal drafting. Each participant needs their own lawyer to advise on proposed terms and address drafting and finalization.
Can I use this service without resolving all the issues
You can ask about organizing the information you have. If substantive questions remain, further mediation or legal advice may be needed. Administrative support cannot resolve a dispute simply by putting it into a document.
Is this included in mediation fees
This is an optional service. Ask for a written scope and quote so you understand what is included before work begins. No particular court outcome, completion date or saving is guaranteed.
